Fee processing is a key process for the smooth operation of any healthcare facility. It is essential that there be complete transparency in the calculation and presentation of amounts to healthcare professionals.

Based on these premises, LynxiT developed a fee-processing robot capable of processing millions of lines in just a few minutes, providing a detailed breakdown of the calculation results for each professional and healthcare facility.

LynxiT’s fee rule configurator allows for the inclusion of numerous variables in the calculation, which can be defined by healthcare subsystem; provider; healthcare facility; medical procedure; service/department; time of day; day of the week; age groups; and more.

Given the critical nature of this area and the success this processing robot has achieved, LynxiT has developed an API for integration with any clinical or hospital management system, thereby enabling the integration of the health facility’s daily output.

To complement the calculation process, providers also have access to a Provider Portal, which is fully customizable to match the corporate image of each Health Unit. The portal displays the calculated amount and the corresponding processing details, enabling interaction with the Health Unit and the upload of the relevant billing document (invoice or the provider’s receipt) for integration into the Health Unit’s system for subsequent payment.

Setting Fee Rules
LynxiT’s fee rule configurator already includes a number of predefined settings, which can be scaled in a very simple and intuitive way, allowing healthcare facilities to independently add new variables for calculation. It is possible to set fee amounts or percentages; by provider and/or team of providers; by medical procedure and/or group of medical procedures; and it also allows for differentiated settings by service, day of the week, and time of day, among many other variables.
Calculation of Fees
The calculation of fees, in addition to the established rules, includes the management of retroactive adjustments, as there are many cases of credits and post-processing re-billing that affect the amounts paid to providers. Thus, the amounts are adjusted with a clear reference to the source of the retroactive adjustment. The calculation also takes into account medical services offered and specific discounts that may be applied at the initiative of the health facility or the provider. In the case of contracted providers, this is another variable that can also be included in the automatic calculation of fees.
Service Provider Portal
To ensure complete transparency and digitization of the entire communication process between the Health Unit and its providers, LynxiT offers a portal where providers can view their entire history of fee processing and the status of each case (awaiting document issuance by the provider; awaiting validation by the Health Unit; in processing; in payment, etc.), as well as access their current account; view transaction history; check amounts receivable; and even issue or upload their own receipts—all with complete transparency and autonomy.
Communication and Alerts
The LynxiT platform offers a variety of communication tools to support this process, such as emails to notify providers whenever a new transaction is available; alerts for transactions for which receipts have not been issued for more than x days; status change alerts (e.g., “in payment”), as well as alerts for healthcare facilities indicating which receipts have already been issued or are missing; these alerts are fully customizable to meet the specific needs of each healthcare facility.

With the Healthcare Template, you can automatically bill patients and entities based on settings for entity price lists and protocols, which allow you to issue documents showing the amounts attributable to each party, either immediately or at a later time, with the respective coding and designation by entity for each medical procedure, in accordance with the requirements of each contract. This tool also enables the exchange and validation of information via web services and files with the various entities.
