The COVID-19 pandemic had a severe impact on the management of available resources within the National Health Service (SNS), such as consumables—protective masks, gowns, swabs, medications, and others. This was a real problem, and the entities that make up the NHS need solutions for it, given that stock shortages were systematic, putting healthcare professionals and citizens themselves at risk.
In this context, which highlights existing gaps, LynxiT developed the “Stock Online” project in response to the epidemiological situation caused by COVID-19, and the project meets the following requirements:
With this solution, developed by LynxiT, it is possible to maintain full, nationwide control over critical supplies for pandemic response, ensuring that all healthcare facilities (public and private) can optimize their inventory levels using predefined recommendation and alert models—which can be customized by each healthcare facility—all while maintaining centralized control that allows the responsible authorities to plan a well-informed response tailored to the country’s actual needs at every stage of the pandemic.
In short, LynxiT’s “Stock Online” solution was designed to provide an effective response by addressing issues upstream in the value chain, which we are confident will have a positive impact on healthcare professionals, as it will enable an efficient response to patients and thus ensure that treatment methodologies and procedures comply with protocols, without the constraints caused by a lack of resources.
This solution will be made available free of charge to all healthcare organizations that are assisting the Portuguese National Health Service (SNS).
